     “10 Step Training Program”

  • Teach your horse to teach himself to be balanced, collected and attentive.
  • Learn how to have complete control of all "four corners" of your horse.
  • Learn a sequence of exercises that apply to every aspect of riding or performance event.
  • Learn how to be consistent with your hands and timing, when to use leg and when not to, how and when to pull and release, and how to give your horse a "comfort zone".
  • Learn how to use our spurs correctly without creating a scared or resentful response.
  • Through this building process, you’ll achieve a lighter, more responsive animal.

#3 From Foundation To Finished “Beyond the Snaffle Bit”
Wil, with his wife Beverly, share priceless skills that take you beyond the plateau of the snaffle bit, "two-handed", pulling techniques of directing your horse. They will show you how, why and when to advance your horse to neck reining, "one-handed", in a finished, leverage (curb) bit.

  • Learn how to creatively put to use Wil’s 10 Step Program, and put a finished "handle" on your horse in, as well as out, of the round pen.
  • Learn how to progress through a series of bits, applying the proper transition techniques for each bit. See how different bits and reins affect and refine your horses’ responses.
  • You’ll be shown in detail, that it is the "finesseful" application of Wil’s reining techniques (handling of the reins), that is the key to enhancing your horses’ performance for "one-handed" riding.
  • By taking the horses up hills and out on the trail, you’ll learn how this exposure gives you the opportunity to maintain your control of all "four corners" of your horse, while teaching him how to use himself, which is both physically and mentally challenging.     $84.95                                   Running Time: Approx. 120 min.

The Start With Control & Trust
    3 Colts ~ 3 Days ~ 3 First Rides
Focusing on the reality of starting young horses, Wil, as usual, shares his message in easy, "down to earth" language. Emphasizing the importance of safety through control, and control built on trust, step by step, Wil and Beverly demonstrate how to create a willing horse, that is light mouthed, responsive to direction and forward impulsion, and able to handle situations of mental and physical pressure in a relaxed manner... all prior to getting on! Making that "first ride" a positive experience for both horse and rider.

Wil Howe Ranch Hobble Training Video
    The Ultimate Attitude Adjustment
This video shows you how to hobble train
properly and safely for both you and your
horse, and how this form of training not only
hobbles the horse physically, teaching them
to give to restraints, but also mentally,
teaching them patience. This is very effective
for teaching a horse to stand quietly and
willingly when tied for grooming, saddling,
    bathing, clipping, doctoring, shoeing, etc.
when used regularly. Hobble training is also
a great aid in conditioning a horse to accept
new or "spooky" situations and over come fear.
Hobbling is a must when camping in the
    wilderness areas, and ultimately, hobble
training can save your horse from serious
injury if he gets caught in a fence or wire.
